President | Joelle Moropito-Huot
Joelle Moropito-Huot has been involved in Montessori education for over 20 years. She received her Primary Montessori credentials from Northeast Montessori Institute. Joelle has held many positions over the years ranging from Assistant teacher to Head of School. She currently holds a Co-Lead position at The Cornerstone School in Stratham. In March of 2023, Joelle completed the Emerging Leaders Fellowship through AMS. When she is not in the classroom, Joelle enjoys spending time with her husband, their three boys and her two dogs.
Vice President | Anja Markusic
Anja is the Director of Program and Staff Support and Head of Nido (Infant/ Toddler) at Southern NH Montessori Academy in Londonderry, NH. She graduated from the AMS Emerging Leaders Fellowship program in March 2021 and is currently a participant in the AMS Innovation Think Tank Fellowship Cohort 1. Anja is AMS credentialed (Infant & Toddler) and is pursuing her AMS administrator credential. She serves as Vice President of the New Hampshire Montessori Association. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and skiing together with her husband and two children and is drawn to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
Secretary | Christine Brown
Chris has 22 years of experience in Montessori preschool education, as both a lead teacher and a director/owner, at the Merrimack Valley Montessori School in Salem, NH. She also worked for Child Care Aware of New Hampshire as a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist, providing a liaison between the State of NH and the Montessori community in our state. Currently she is involved in the New Hampshire Montessori Association and is pleased to be working on outreach and connection for NH Montessori teachers and administrators. She lives in Southern Hampshire, with occasional forays to Portland ME, with her husband. Her 4 children now live up and down the East Coast.
Treasurer | Juliet D’Avila
Juliet is the former owner/director/teacher for Mountain View Montessori School in North Conway, NH (1995 to 2019). MVMS offered age 3-6 classrooms consistently and, at various times, infant/toddler and lower elementary programs. She holds AMS 3-6 early childhood, and 6-12 elementary credentials and has a master’s degree in education from Plymouth State. Juliet has taught early childhood education courses at White Mountains Community College and serves on the executive board for Robert Frost Public Charter School, a Montessori K-12 option in Conway, NH.
Membership Coordinator | Kelly Evans
Kelly has 20 years of experience in education specifically in the areas of special education, early intervention services, and applied behavioral analysis. She discovered Montessori midway through her career while teaching children with autism and immediately fell in love with all that it had to offer to ALL children. Kelly holds a 6-9 Lower Elementary Credential as well as an M.Ed in education from Plymouth State University. She has had the pleasure of teaching and learning with toddlers, preschool and elementary students in both traditional, charter school and Montessori environments. Kelly is the former Co-Director at Mountain View Montessori School in North Conway, NH and currently teaches early childhood education courses at White Mountains Community College. When not teaching, Kelly is an avid gardener and enjoys all of the adventure that the White Mountains have to offer with her husband, son and two dogs.
