President | Laura Mammarelli
Laura Mammarelli is the director of the Blue Heron School at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. This school was founded in 2010 as a program blending the Montessori philosophy with the Nature Preschool approach to early childhood education, and is a primary program for three to six-year-olds. In addition, Laura is involved with the New Hampshire Montessori Association, building connections and membership, planning workshops, and developing advocacy efforts for the Montessori community in NH. Laura lives with her husband in Holderness, and, when not at school, enjoys visits with her two adult children and their families.
Vice President | Anja Markusic
Anja Markusic is the Head of Nido and Lead Toddler teacher at Southern NH Montessori Academy in Londonderry, NH. She graduated from the AMS Emerging Leadership Fellow program in March 2021. She is a co- facilitator for the AMS Live Connect for infant/ toddler teachers and serves as Vice President of the New Hampshire Montessori Association. Anja is AMS credentialed (Infant & Toddler) and is currently pursuing the AMS Administrator credential.
Secretary | Christine Brown
Chris Brown has 22 years of experience in Montessori preschool education, as both a lead teacher and a director/owner, at the Merrimack Valley Montessori School in Salem, NH. She also worked for Child Care Aware of New Hampshire as a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist, providing a liaison between the State of NH and the Montessori community in our state. Currently she is involved in the New Hampshire Montessori Association and is pleased to be working on outreach and connection for NH Montessori teachers and administrators. She lives in Southern Hampshire, with occasional forays to Portland ME, with her husband. Her 4 children now live up and down the East Coast.
Treasurer | Juliet Fleischer
Juliet Fleischer is the former owner/director/teacher for Mountain View Montessori School in North Conway, NH (1995 to 2019). MVMS offered age 3-6 classrooms consistently and, at various times, infant/toddler and lower elementary programs. She holds AMS 3-6 early childhood, and 6-12 elementary credentials and has a master’s degree in education from Plymouth State. Currently, Juliet teaches early childhood education courses at White Mountains Community College and serves on the executive board for Robert Frost Public Charter School, a Montessori K-8 option in Conway, NH.
Membership Coordinator | Kelly Evans
Kelly Evans has 20 years of experience in education specifically in the areas of special education, early intervention services, and applied behavioral analysis. She discovered Montessori midway through her career while teaching children with autism and immediately fell in love with all that it had to offer to ALL children. Kelly holds a 6-9 Lower Elementary Credential as well as an M.Ed in education from Plymouth State University. She has had the pleasure of teaching and learning with toddlers, preschool and elementary students in both traditional, charter school and Montessori environments. Kelly is the former Co-Director at Mountain View Montessori School in North Conway, NH and currently teaches early childhood education courses at White Mountains Community College. In addition she is a stay at home mom to an adventurous toddler, is an avid gardener and enjoys all of the adventure that the White Mountains have to offer with her husband, son and two dogs.
